🌋 Instagram 🌋Clélia Barthelon vit et travaille à Clermont-Ferrand. Artiste plasticienne, elle propose de partager des expériences ou des instants communs en vidéos ou en performances, elle se réapproprie des objets souvenirs et transforme les images de son passé pour éviter que sa mémoire ne se fane. Après ses études à l’École Supérieure d’Art de Clermont Métropole, elle fonde l’association somme toute en 2018 avec ses anciens camarades de promotion, et ouvre un espace à la fois atelier, lieu d’expositions, de résidences, de conférences ou de formes non définissables à Clermont-Ferrand.

Tous les moyens sont bons ; l’exploration, les cartes, les livres, Internet, YouTube, Instagram. Le chemin est semé d’embuches et le résultat n’est jamais celui escompté. Les choses ont une forte tendance à apparaître pour mieux disparaître, et vice-versa. Parfois il faut revenir sur ses pas, remonter le temps.
Les paysages embrumés se heurtent à la vie ordinaire, la fumée rencontre les paillettes, les fantômes traversent les écrans, l’expérience est commune et la fête est mélancolique.
On passe de grottes en grottes. Les paillettes tentent de retenir des souvenirs qui se fanent, une mémoire commune devenue un peu floue.
Il restera des vidéos qui prouvent ces aventures souvent banales, des sérigraphies monstrueuses ou fantomatiques, des figues, des balançoires fatiguée, des histoires de renards, des performances de lecteurs silencieux, des boulangeries qui tirent leur révérence ou encore des piñatas de mammouths sacrifiés, remplis de paillettes. Puis l’on se retrouve devant la cheminée, où l’on ramène ses trophées et ses souvenirs." Clélia Barthelon
"Clélia Barthelon was born in 1992 in the city of Voiron (the French Alps), today she lives and works in Clermont-Ferrand in France. She has graduated from the School of Visual Arts of Clermont-Ferrand (Ecole Supérieure d'art de Clermont métropole). In 2018 together with other graduates of the school she etablished the somme toute association, in the premises of which art workshops, exhibitions, art residencies and even conferences take place today
Clélia Barthelon is a representative of visual arts. In her works the author tells us about the ways of surviving moments of quotidian life. Her art speaks of memory which, being the central axis of creation, may remain alive with the help of contemporary media, not only revisiting the images during each revision. The transformation itself becomes a new condition for memory survival and/or resurrection. Through the artworks Barthelon actualizes the problem of the present: objects of the present (even those that do not have a shape or form and appear only as spectres in visual space) disappear at once after they have appeared. In this way Barthelon is asking us whether we, being in the present, are experiencing the continual state of doubt(ing): between dead and alive, between absent and still present, between the formless, the weightless and the tangible. The feeling of uncertainly turns into a real tragedy of our present reality: i.e. the presence in the contemporary present sometimes seems as uncertain as the images of reality demonstrated my the contemporary media that create, transform and multiply visual information. Life in the reality of the present is like a meeting with a copy of a copy, where even those objects that seem real at first glance may turn into the shape of a spectre that lingers in our sight neither dead nor alive, neither formless nor tangible. Therefore in the present, where the two worlds - the real and the one reproduced my the media - meet we seem to be walking from one cave into another. The foggy landscapes of our everyday emerge as a sign marking ou own, multi-layered uncertain relation with our environment and its varied shapes and forms.
